Humanitarian Aid Is Still Needed

Basic humanitarian support remains essential in the areas where Ukrainians are fleeing from the war. As Christians, we recognize that humanitarian aid alone is not enough. We believe that mental and spiritual support for Ukrainians affected by the war is of high priority.

Long-Term Vision of Assistance

Therefore, we do not want to focus only on immediate aid, but also, in the medium term, on the restoration and strengthening of spiritual services for Ukrainians affected by the war.

Other Forms of Assistance and Support

Selected contributions:
  • $4,000 – humanitarian aid in Rivne and the Donetsk region
  • 100,000 CZK – CityChurch Ostrava
  • 50,000 CZK – collection for Anielka
  • 400,000 CZK – EGCC projects to support Christians
  • 50,000 CZK – printing of Gideon Bibles
  • $7,300 – ECB Milost congregation in Rivne
  • 115,000 CZK – support for Ukrainian families (CityChurch.cz)
  • 250,000 CZK – humanitarian aid (Czech Wells)
  • 50,000 CZK – project “Preaching Jesus in Ukraine”

Information about the situation in Ukraine (May 31, 2024)

Thanks to a donation from CB Říčany, we are transporting special first aid kits to Ukraine on Sunday.
First aid kits – “miracle Israeli first aid kits.” Probably based on the item “Israeli-type tactical pressure bandage.” It is referred to as IFAK – Individual First Aid Kit – a trauma first aid kit.

Information about the situation in Ukraine (May 15, 2024)

The current situation is that people are being evacuated from the Kharkiv region by car, which we bought for them with donations from our donors. Brothers! Pray for the entire Kharkiv region. The situation is complicated in Lukyantsy, a village near Liptsy and Volchansk, they are cut off, the crossing has been blown up. The evacuation is now underway… Our brothers are there… We are starting. Let us pray! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Information from the front lines among believers (February 11, 2024)

Pastor Valery from Kupyansk is a so-called regional pastor, i.e., a pastor who coordinates local pastors. His murdered son-in-law was supposed to take over this ministry after him. Here is an article about his death: https:// www.invictory.org/news/society/33984-v-harkovskoj-oblasti-ot-oskolka-pogib-pastor-v-hersonskoj-oblasti-pastora-zahvatili-v-plen

The family of the murdered pastor was one of those to whom we gave money last January.
In the week before his death, he called the regional pastor and informed him about the shelling and that he was trying to organize prayer meetings and worship services. During the occupation, believers also gave testimonies to the occupying soldiers.

Pastor Valery urged the family to evacuate, but they asked him, “Will you come with us?” He replied that he would not, so the family also refused. After his son-in-law’s death, he agreed, but when they arrived in Kharkiv, he told them he was going back. They were surprised that he had promised to go with them, and he replied that he had gone with them, but he had not promised not to return.

So that is why he travels between Kharkiv and Kupiansk. The reason is that many new Orthodox Christians have come to the church in Kupiansk and are begging him not to leave them.

Prayer room in Kupiansk after shelling

This is what the prayer room in Kupiansk looked like after Russian shelling on October 12, 2023:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_5L2lgl0mI
(the video was filmed by Pastor Valery himself).

At the end of the video showing the destroyed chapel, Pastor Valery asks for prayers so that he can cope and bitterness does not settle in his heart, but it is very difficult.

Information about Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovy

Kupiansk – nearly 27,000 inhabitants before the war.
Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi – had a population of nearly 9,000 before the war.
Together with other municipalities, both parts form the so-called Kupyansk cluster.

The state of the church and its members

There was a church in both parts, but the prayer house in Kupyansk has been destroyed.
The church in Kupjansk-Vuzlovyj had 70 members before the war, now there are 15 left.
With the start of the war, about 150 new people joined the church, but now, due to the evacuation, the number has decreased. Thirty to forty new people attend regularly. Naturally, there are no children there – they were evacuated.
Worship services are held on Sundays, and Bible study and prayer meetings are held during the week.

Pastor Valery’s personal situation

After the death of his son-in-law, Valery evacuated his family to Kharkiv, where they spend part of their time, while the other part is spent in Kupiansk.
The people who remain there beg him not to leave them.

Security and humanitarian situation

The situation in Kupiansk is very difficult: constant shelling and fighting, because the Russians want to occupy the city.
They are already 6 km from the city.

Why don’t people leave? It is difficult to leave all your possessions behind and go live in some kind of shelter, often without any resources.

Food is available – apparently it is being brought in, but there is a big problem with drugstore items and hygiene products.

What they specifically need

  • Financial assistance for drugstore and hygiene supplies
  • A new multifunction printer – for processing documents
  • Help with fuel and basic operating costs

The pastor was grateful for the contribution of 2,000 hryvnia (approx. CZK 1,300) for the people who help him and have no income.

The importance of interest and support

Every time we are in contact, we can feel how important it is for the locals to know that someone cares about them.

Information from the front line among believers (January 27, 2024)

Hello everyone,
I have some news for you about what is happening in Kharkiv.

Two weeks ago (on Sunday, January 14), Serhiy sent me several videos showing how they are using the money I brought them in the fall (the money was collected by the CB Říčany congregation). During Christmas, the brothers visited a retirement home and a prison, and after the New Year, they organized a meeting for people with disabilities. It was the second such meeting for disabled people. One had already taken place in the fall, and I am also attaching a video from that one. The fall video shows a little more of how it works, that a large number of non-disabled people (almost 1:1) have to participate in order to provide personal assistance. The meeting was organized jointly by several churches in Kharkiv because it is a large-scale event – in the fall, there were several dozen (perhaps as many as 70) disabled people there.

The regional pastor is trying to organize work with people affected by the war, including soldiers, which will also include pastoral care.
In the Kharkiv congregation, where the main Ukrainian prison chaplain Viktor Dudka is the pastor, part of the buildings burned down :(.

This week, a group from Rivne led by Viktor Chromov went to Kharkiv. The main goal is to visit soldiers for pastoral care. Being on the front line and seeing all the horrors there is very, very difficult.

PF 2024

Dear friends, I wish you all a healthy outlook in 2024 on the One who holds us firmly and lovingly in His mighty hand. This photo was sent from Kharkiv on December 29, 2023. It was taken at a prayer house in the Kharkiv suburb of Pokotylivka (Покотилівка). The people in the photo are displaced persons from villages destroyed by the war, who are staying at the prayer house. They are charging their cell phones, headlamps, and other flashlights from a battery source that we brought to Kharkiv in the fall. Thank you for your support of our work in Ukraine and for your prayers.

Thank you for your financial support

We are extremely grateful for your financial support. The funds are being used to purchase medicine and food for people affected by the bombing. These are people from Irpin, Bucha, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and other areas bombed by Russian aggressors.

Currently, electric generators are needed because the power grids have been destroyed and there is no water, electricity, or gas. It is also more difficult to buy or find food to send to those affected.

Thank God, all bank accounts are working. Therefore, your help, whether financial or in kind, is very valuable and necessary. We use everything exclusively for the needs of people in the cities I have described to you. Be blessed!

CityChurch.cz – Help Ukrainian families

Help Ukrainian families fleeing the war.

Current information about this aid can be found directly on the collection page here.

České studny – Humanitarian Aid

České studny z.s. contributed CZK 250,000 to the purchase and transport of humanitarian aid as part of the Help Ukraine appeal.

We support the project initiated by David Loula and České studny, which continues under their auspices in the Tobe Endowment Fund under the leadership of Marek Otoupal.

They are already preparing the sixth truck with humanitarian aid. One trip, including the purchase of humanitarian aid, costs CZK 600,000–700,000.
The material aid consists of:

  • 90% food
  • 10% drugstore items

On April 8, another truck with aid left for Kharkiv, where the central church warehouse is located. The aid is timely and fast, as long as the Russian offensive leaves the roads open.

Christ for All Nations – Preaching Jesus in Ukraine

Christ for All Nations contributed CZK 50,000 to the project
Preaching Jesus in Ukraine.

We continue to pray and provide practical help. In line with the aim of the Help Ukraine fund, the F-nadace foundation seeks opportunities to help Ukraine through Christians, Christian churches, and Christian ministries. You can join us and help together.

Thanks from Charkov

The Establishment of the House of Prayer

At the beginning of 2022, the Hnízdo Association established a House of Prayer in Jiřice in the Vysočina region. The goal of the House of Prayer is to provide continuous praise and prayer for the Czech land and nation.

Community and Vision

The Hnízdo Association brings together several dozen people from various Christian denominations and creates an environment for Christians to meet for prayer, worship, fellowship, and education. Part of the vision of the House of Prayer is also the ministry of inner healing. We currently have several part-time ministers, but we are working towards being able to release full-time missionaries of praise and prayer.
